PCS Gophers Ltd (Professional Courier Services) was created by Cathy Smith and her husband to service local downtown Grand Rapids attorneys and professional companies. At this time, all business was done on physical documents and the demand for a local courier was there.
At the start of the millennium, PCS and Cathy’s team celebrated 20 years of being a successful woman-owned business in the West Michigan area. They continued to grow their business by taking on new industries, including freight and last-mile delivery
Cathy continued to attack different industries throughout the last decade by continuing growing the different industries served, specifically focusing on medical and hotshot freight.
- After forty years in the business, Cathy Smith put the business up for sale and as of May 2021, PCS is under new ownership. The core of the business and employees remain, while focusing on continuing amazing and professional delivery services to the Michigan community.
